Things we’d love to tell you about our Taw Valley site.

Our Taw Valley Creamery was established in 1974 and it has been a significant site for cheese production in the UK, and it has undergone various developments and expansions over the years to improve its capacity and capabilities in cheese making.

We process over 1 million liters of milk daily, producing over 100t of award winning cheese each day, such as Castello Tickler.

We would love you to join our growing team in a rare opportunity to play a key role in our cheese processing department. We seek a responsible, proactive individual who can work independently while maintaining high standards in dairy processes.

 

An overview of the position:

As a Production Operator you will be a skilled individual with the responsibility manufacturing cheese to a set recipe whilst understanding process parameters and product characteristics to meet specifications. You will be part of a small team working together to ensure line efficiency is maintained.

The position will require you to:

  • Manufacture cheese by accurately managing raw materials and ingredients.
  • Follow SOP’s to ensure product is produced in a consistent manner.
  • Ensure cleanliness of plant equipment and environment and demonstrate a thorough understanding of food safety protocols and consistently implement hygienic work practices in all aspects of cheese production.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to achieve established targets and objectives, contributing to overall production goals and efficiency.
  • Complete accurate paperwork and documentation for production runs, quality checks, and procedural compliance.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with team leads and fellow team members to ensure smooth operations and address any production issues promptly.
  • Actively contributes to maintaining a healthy and safe working environment, following all safety protocols, and identifying potential hazards.

 

The ideal candidate:

 

  • Have experience in dairy processing or other food related manufacturing, however, full training in your role will be given.
  • Have an understanding of HACCP or other food safety disciplines.
  • Be able to work as a team member but also carry out individual tasks where required.
  • Have basic IT skills such as using Microsoft applications
