As a Supplier Quality Engineer at Terex based in Omagh, you'll play a pivotal role in producing equipment that helps improve the lives of people around the world.


What you’ll do:

  • Promote the Terex Omagh quality standard ethos of Zero Defects – don’t accept, don’t make, don’t pass on
  • Promote the principles of Total Quality Management throughout our supply base and within our internal manufacturing processes
  • Support supplier and product qualification projects (local and international) inc. supplier onboarding, contract review participation, PPAP/FAIR reviews, visiting suppliers and completing component quality verification checks
  • Incoming inspection of critical components
  • Documentation control - Review and management of supplier quality documentation. Creation, revision and maintaining of quality related documentation
  • Raising of supplier reject notes for non-conformances and arranging supplier rectifications as required
  • Where non–conformance exists, use initiative to introduce suitable manufacturing containment actions while working with the supply base and technical personnel to achieve long-term solutions for quality (CAPA) from accurate root-cause analysis
  • Supplier performance monitoring – Track, analyse and report on supplier quality metrics to drive improvements in product quality and supplier performance
  • Assist with supplier performance reviews and supplier improvement plans
  • Support NPPD within the factory from design review stage through to prototype build. Be actively involved in every stage of the process to help guarantee its success
  • Assist in supplier auditing
  • Assist on customer queries
  • Willingness and ability to travel
  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives such as 5S and process standardisation
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as per business/department requirements

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Engineering Qualification or equivalent experience in an engineering/Manufacturing environment with quality/supplier quality experience.
  • A proven track record of experience working in a manufacturing environment covering both fabrication and assembly disciplines.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control and problem-solving techniques utilized throughout the manufacturing industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to develop relationships across levels, geographies and segments.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable:

  • Experience of supplier management
  • Internal and external audit certification
  • Experience in maintaining a Quality Management System
  • Experience in new product introduction and advanced product quality planning
  • Experience in dealing with customers
