Job Purpose
Reporting to Manufacturing management, the Manufacturing Engineer will be accountable for the delivery of complex components and multiple processes across value streams to deliver customer requirements.
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for supporting the delivery of engineering capability to meet customer requirements, working closely with the operations leaders, programme management and supporting customers.

Key Responsibilities:
• Delivery of technical projects to successfully deliver rate capable solutions to time, cost and quality.
• Meet specified engineering design requirements by applying engineering knowledge to ensure capability requirements and product        quality assurance standards are met.
• Interpreting and assessing technical requirements of products from 3D models, 2D engineering drawings, specifications and 

   instructions.
• Support production solutions and equipment requirements, including conceptual scheme
   and detail design of capital equipment.
• Develop current designs, standards, practices and procedures.
• Assess the safety and environmental impact of new equipment and processes, ensuring that all aspects of acquired process    

  operations meet specified legal regulations.
• Support the selection and justification of capital equipment.
• Investigate and assess causes of non-conformance in accordance with Company Quality policy and procedures.
• Active involvement in continuous improvement to systems, processes and methods to promote improved efficiency, reduce waste and    cost.
• Apply quality planning principles to process and product design at all stages of
   industrialisation to deliver proven and validated processes including product inspection.
• Provide robust, capable processes, fixtures and process instructions which deliver solutions within agreed timescales and to an 

   agreed cost driving class leading First Time Right capability.
• Provide all relevant production documentation to support process operations including the training and development of operations   

   teams in technical and practical methods, systems and processes.
• Support and contribute to manufacturing system design and simulation activity ensuring engineering solutions deliver in line with 

   business case.
• Reviewing process data to continually develop and optimise process capability in line with Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
• Conducting process development trials and testing in line with DoE methodologies.
• Working with sub-contractors and technology partners to design, install and commission new production processes.
• Any other duties as directed by engineering leadership.

Preferred skills and experience

• HND or degree qualified in mechanical engineering or relevant technical subject.
• Ability to visualise novel and complex manufacturing solutions is a prerequisite, ideally coupled with experience of manufacturing      

  system design and discreet event simulation.
• In-depth working knowledge of complex components and processes such as multi axis conventional and non-conventional machining,   wet treatments, surface modification, ALM, bonding, joining and final assembly activity across multi manufacturing disciplines.
• Working in cross functional value streams, to manage competing priorities
• Excellent stakeholder management, ability to build strong and cohesive working
   relationships
• Demonstrating values of integrity, respect, passion and pride, setting and maintaining high behavioural standards
